About this ebook

A wildland firefighter falls for his best friend’s widowed sister after she and her kids move in next door, in this flaming hot book three in the BookTok viral Sky Ridge Hotshot series.

‘Don’t ever let me hear you talk about yourself like that, do you understand? You’re perfect just like this.’

Being a hotshot wildland firefighter is all I’ve ever known. It’s my greatest passion. This job is dangerous, and after watching my parents’ marriage fail because of it, I knew long ago I’d never be a relationship kinda guy. That all changes when Teddy moves in down the street. As her brother’s best friend, I’ve always been Xander to her, but secretly I’ve always wanted to be more. She’s recently widowed, with two young kids and another soon on the way. With a heart locked up like Fort Knox after losing her husband, breaking down Teddy’s defences will be damn near impossible . . . but I want to show her that I’m here to stay.

As superintendent, my duty to my crew has always been my priority. But with Teddy’s heart on the line, can I give up the only life I’ve ever known? Or am I doomed to be honour bound and lose the only woman I’ve ever loved?

About the author

Danielle Baker was born and raised in the picturesque city of Petoskey, nestled on the crystalline shores of Lake Michigan, which also happens to be the setting of most of her books. Danielle’s love of reading began with a bespectacled boy named Harry, and she has been devouring literature ever since. Her love of writing began while she was in high school, and by the time she graduated she had written a plethora of short stories, two novellas and three novels. Life and family took a front seat to writing for several years, but at the urging of her family, Danielle was given the boost she needed to ‘get back in the saddle’ and keep reaching for her lifelong dream of becoming a published author. When Danielle isn’t working, writing or spending time with her family and beloved golden retriever, she can be found with a cup of coffee in one hand and a book in the other.
