About this ebook

Now a major feature film starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, A Simple Favour is a twisting free-fall ride filled with betrayal, secrets and revelations, love and loyalty . . .

What happened to Emily?

It starts with a simple favour – an ordinary kindness mothers do for one another.

As a widow and stay-at-home blogger mum living in suburban Connecticut, Stephanie was lonely until she met Emily – a glamorous and successful PR executive. Their children are classmates and best friends – and so are they.

So, when Emily asks Stephanie to pick up her son from school, of course she says yes.

But Emily doesn't come back.

No matter what the police say, Stephanie knows that Emily would never leave her son. Terrified, she reaches out to her fellow mummy bloggers. And she reaches out to Emily's husband to offer her support.

But there are secrets that Stephanie hasn't shared.

Secrets buried deep in the murky past . . .

For fans of Mothers’ Instinct and Big Little Lies, Darcey Bell ratchets up the tension in a taut, unsettling, and completely absorbing thriller that holds you in its grip until the very final page.

The book was very fast paced and enjoyable in that sense. However, the characters, particularly Emily, were inconsistent. Seans perspective was very feminine. Spoiler below. Also, it seems very unlikely that a wall street broker and a head of PR would go through all that trouble for 2 million, regardless of the thrill.

I found myself willing for the book to just end as the story drags out for too long. The characters are quite boring as is the storyline after a few chapters. Nothing is very believable or exciting.

It's an intriguing read and i loved how you never knew what Emily's twisted mind would think of next but the blogging Stephanie was too predictable and a little unbelievable. I would have liked Sean to be involved at the end. Maybe there's a book 2???
