About this ebook

 Peace in our time.

The Toralii guns are silent. Humanity’s home of Velsharn is secure. There are no more battles. No more wars. The machinations of a dying man have traded a single life for a species; Captain Melissa Liao’s world is four iron walls and pain, but her suffering buys life for mankind. Her legacy is one of struggle, selflessness, and sacrifice.

Held in the grasp of the Toralii Alliance, she takes little comfort in this. Is this the swansong for war, for steel and blood and gunpowder? Is this the price of peace?

Amongst the crew of the TFR Beijing, the TFR Tehran, and the TFR Washington, a chorus rings:

No one gets left behind.

The climactic sixth, and final, book of the Lacuna series.

I feel like this was far below the level of previous books. About 40% of it is pure preaching/rambling that has nothing to do with the story or the universe whatsoever. And the whole thing feels insanely rushed and filled with what u can only call text, not even fluff, just rambling offtopic fillup text which contribute nothing to the story, universe or setting. Whole book just screams "I have a delivery deadline to meet"...

There was a few mistakes missed by editing but a lot less than the previous books in the series. The story was good and the constant lack of plot armour for the main characters leads this book to always being full of suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed and am eagerly awaiting the next installment of this series.

I had been waiting for the final book for a while now. I'm not over the moon about it. It felt rushed and running out of material at the same time. At the end there are too many up in the air ends left floating. The writing style is strong and fluent as usual, the moments well decribed. Yet the feeling of something missing or left unfinished is there. Maybe this needed a few more pages or even another book.

About the author

I've always been thinking of stories for as long as I've been alive. I have way, way, way too many to tell and far too little time to tell them.

It was only in 2011 that I actually started shaping and weaving those random, jumbling, chaotic masses of thoughts into coherent narratives and began self-publishing.

I write a little science fiction, a little fantasy, a little humour and comedy, and a few other things all over the place.
