But Dweia is not the only one able to manipulate time. Her evil brother shares the power, and while Dweia has been teaching Althalus the secrets of The Book, the ancient God has been using the dark magic of his own Book to rewrite history. Yet all is not lost. But only if Althalus, still a thief at heart, can bring together a ragtag group of men, women, and children with no reason to trust him or each other.

Found this book from a thrift bookshop. Was overwhelmingly enamored and shared to a HS friend but was not returned. Been looking for a hard copy until I graduated college and finally got a job, which I always visit that bookstore and I even left a colored printed copy of it haha just for the lookout! Soon I was able to save and afford to buy overseas online from Amazon which took over a year to receive in my country. It has different cover jacket from I first bought which I affecionately felt in love with but I don't mind I was glad and happy finally to have a hardbound copy. Fast forward, was able to save to buy a small tablet and the very first thing I installed is this app and looked for an ebook copy and buy a digital version! So this basically a picture of me since student until to my professional career longing for this book showing how great this book is! Can't share or let someone borrow my hard copy though! haha p.s. I will not talk about what's inside, but I welcome your curiosity to read and go inside it's world!

This is the fourth time that I've read this book. This is a book that I had always told myself in others has been my all-time favorite stand-alone book. I have always used Eddings as example authors of people who do character growth very well. Rose-tinted was my youth clearly. And I find myself wondering and if all of Eddings previous books were written with such one-note characters.

Picked up a first-edition hardback out of my 9th grade English teacher's throwaway book box and it has been my favorite book since. I've got a lot of reading time under my belt but this is the book I always come back to.
About the author
David Eddings published his first novel, High Hunt, in 1973, before turning to the field of fantasy and The Belgariad, soon followed by The Malloreon. Born in Spokane, Washington, in 1931, and raised in the Puget Sound area north of Seattle, he received his bachelor of arts degree from Reed College in Portland, Oregon, in 1954 and a master of arts degree from the University of Washington in 1961. He has served in the United States Army, has worked as a buyer for the Boeing Company, and has been a grocery clerk and a college English teacher.
