About this ebook

Every day, there are treasures to be discovered by anyone who will honestly come to hear the voice of the Savior in his Word. The Lord Jesus indicates that there is an added blessing for those who will write down the insights he gives by his instruction: Every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old (Matthew 13:52). The poems in this book are the result of going to the Bible each day with an expectation that God has something very valuable to say. That expectation has NEVER been disappointed. Our risen Lord said, I stand at the door and knock. If any man hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and will sup with him, and he with Me (Revelation 3:20). This intimate, two-way communion with God is offered to all those who have received the Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:12) and thereby have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that are freely given to us by God (1 Corinthians 2:12). My prayer is that God may use this book for his glory, for the encouragement of his own children, and for the persuasion of those who may yet be awakened to their need of our Savior. Blessed is the man that heareth Me, watching daily at My gates, waiting at the post of My doors (Proverbs 8:34). Heaven is waiting. Dont miss it for the world.

About the author

David Edwin Hall continues to write daily devotional poetry to those who have requested his day-by-day encouragement in the scriptures. His writings are also posted daily on his personal blog entitled, Quiet Time Poems, located at http://quiettimepoems.blogspot.com. A retired US Navy chief petty officer, David earned his BA at San Diego State University (Spanish, Sociology) and a subsequent teaching credential (English Language Arts) at National University. He has been a regular speaker and song leader at Mission Valley Community Chapel and at various gospel outreaches, providing weekly Bible studies and pastoral visitations at multiple convalescent homes in the San Diego area. His greatest passion guiding his teaching and writing is to convey a clear concept of the gospel, presenting the evidence of fulfilled prophecy, the resurrection of Christ, the historical judgments of God, and the obvious purpose and design in creation, which renders those who willfully ignore the evidence as "without excuse" (Romans 1:1–20). David's spiritual journey began in the early days of his naval career during the night watches he stood aboard the USS Midway in 1973. Having rejected religion as wishful thinking in the minds of those who refused to accept the notion that, after all, we just don't know what lies beyond grave, he sought to engage others in honest conversations about eternity—all with little satisfaction. Finally addressing his concern heavenward in a "God, if you're there" fashion, he was led to search out and find the multilayered prophetic, scientific, historic, and legal evidence that unmistakably points to the Lord Jesus Christ. Receiving Christ as his Savior on December 28, 1973, he experienced the joy of growing in the knowledge of Christ and making him known to all who will sincerely seek him.
