About this ebook

A Tangled Web of Secrets and Suspects Ensnares a Mismatched Crime-Solving Duo

In this delightful adventure featuring the unlikely pair of film critic Mitch Berger and Connecticut state trooper Des Mitry, Mitch's New York City past and his Dorset present collide head on. Back when Mitch was a chubby thirteen-year-old living in Stuyvesant Town, Beth Breslauer, a lovely blond single mother, lived across the hall with her son, Kenny. Now a wealthy widow residing in the exclusive Captain Chadwick House, Beth is preparing for Kenny's engagement to Mitch's yoga teacher, Kimberly Farrell.

Kimberly's parents, social pariahs due to her father's role in the sub-prime home loan meltdown, hope the lavish engagement party will restore their standing. Meanwhile, Augie Donatelli, the retired police detective managing the Captain Chadwick House, is convinced he's identified the notorious Dorset Flasher and believes Beth descends from a lineage of professional thieves. When Augie turns up dead after Des dismisses his claims, Mitch must dig deeper into the lives of those around him to uncover the truth, no matter how unsettling.

The Shimmering Blond Sister, David Handler's most emotionally gripping installment yet, masterfully weaves a tale of secrets, suspense, and the complexities of relationships in this captivating mystery.
