This work is compilation and editing on history of Ganawaria clan in India. In fact, this is the collection of research articles published elsewhere, unpublished manuscripts on the issue, findings of field research, personal interviews with local people, scholars, historians, and focus group discussion with multiple groups. This work took over 4 years (2016-2020). Family trees have been compiled and updated. Editorial comments are inserted throughout the book and overall analysis has been provided as editorial. Ganawaria /Gandhwaria /of Mithila in Bihar had central role in development of cultural heritage of Mithila and Maithili in medieval and modern period. This book also focuses on religious beliefs and culture of the clan. This work is also collection of remains of their prestigious culture in the form historical inscriptions available from different parts of Mithila( India and Nepal) .

About the author

Dr Dhirendra Narain Sinha belongs to Ganwaria clan in India. By training he is surgeon and was faculty in surgery in Medical Collages of India. He had served WHO as international Civil servant for over 10 years. He has over 200 publications in peer reviewed journals of excellence to his credit . He has been member of over 100 scientific committees. He had been on the working committee panel of International Agency on Research for Cancer (monograph 89). He has research on global cancer especially on Tobacco related deaths, occupational carcinogens and cancers. He has been visiting scientists of Harvard University over 10 years. He has edited and peer reviewed several scientific reports, monographs and scientific journals of excellence. He has been involved in several intervention projects on cancer control and tobacco control projects. His research has been referenced in over 20000 research papers throughout the world.
