In the past people often looked to sacred texts or respected individual for answers, knowledge was based on faith. But science began when humans admitted that we don't know everything. The discovery of ignorance launched the scientific revolution. Classically, science' main goal has been building knowledge and understanding regardless of its potential applications for example, investigating the chemical reactions that an organic compound undergoes in order to learn about its structure. Scientific discovery can lead to new technologies that improve people's lives, such as computers, television, and planes. Scientific knowledge can help solve practical problems and make informed decisions. Scientific discoveries can lead to medical advancements, such as disease eradications, new medications and medical devices. Scientific discoveries can answer fundamental questions about the world. For example, the discovery DNA's structure led to the better understanding of life. Scientific discoveries can lead to technological advancements. For example, DNA copying and sequencing technologies have led to breakthrough in biology. Scientific discovery can provide intellectual freedom for scientists to develop ideas that capture their curiosity.
