The WHO Disease Outbreak News Annual Compendium 2022 highlights selected acute public health events described in disease outbreak news (DON) reports published in 2022.
DON reports are a key mechanism through which WHO communicates on acute public health events to the public. They are a source of authoritative, verified, and timely information and fulfil a critical role in information dissemination. Authoritative, verified and timely information allows the public and, particularly, public health actors to make informed decisions for acute public health events.
