What can be done to confront the disease of alcoholism? The medical establishment can research the effects of excessive drinking, but it is up to parents and society in general to take responsibility for curbing its useand they must do it by example.

Audrey Brown Edwards was born near Calico Rock, Arkansas, later graduating from the University of Arkansas at Monticello. After teaching chemistry and biology, she earned her master’s degree from Oklahoma State University and a PhD from Florida State University.
