Dr. Jayant Narlikar is a highly reputed world class scientist and Founder Director of the organization for the study of Astronomy called “IUCCA”. He has brought science to the masses in a simple style through a variety of media like articles, speeches, science fiction, books, TV programs and movies; in Marathi, Hindi and English. He is the recipient of hundreds of other prestigious awards such as 'Padma Bhushan', 'Padma Vibhushan', FIE Foundation's Rashtrabhushan Award, Maharashtra Government's 'Maharashtra Bhushan' Award. He is an honorary member of Indian Academy of Sciences, Indian National Science Academy, National Academy, National Academy of Sciences, India, and Third World Academy of Sciences and is an Associate of the Royal Astronomical Society, London.
