He hailed from a small village of farmers of Unchgaon of ----- district in U.P. (India).
He received his early education in his village. He had seen with his own eyes that the poor farmers and labourers were exploited by the landlord and the money lenders. He had the pain for them since then. For higher education he came to Jhansi. He passed M.A. in English from Lucknow University in 1934 and Ph.D. in 1940. He taught in Lucknow University till 1938, then became HOD in Balwant Rajput College, Agra from 1941 to 1971. Later he came to Delhi in 1981 and remained there till the last breath of his life.
He wrote many books in Hindi and in English.
