Unfortunatly, there are gaps in the pages of this book which make full enjoyment of Mr. Poe's efforts impossible. It seems that whoever performed the scan was distracted at several occasions. Pages from approximately page 6 to page 18 are missing and from page 85 to 110 also. I haven't gone beyond 110 in my reading.

It was interesting until the adrupt ending. I thought it was to go on. It just stops. It feels incomplete. Unless this is just a snippet and not the entire book? I'm confused how it ended. Sad

This short story was one of the first of the pirate tale genre, and served as an inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson, who would write Treasure Island, the greatest pirate tale of them all.
