About this ebook

HE'S A JOINT TASK TEAM OPERATIVE ON A MISSION TO STOP A DEADLY COMPUTER VIRUS. SHE HOLDS THE KEY TO SAVING THE WORLD. IS A SECOND CHANCE POSSIBLE WHEN LOVE AND DANGER COLLIDE?

After tragedy rips Rebecca Barrows from his life, JTT cyber specialist Jay Mann believes she’s lost to him forever. But when a ruthless enemy resurfaces, threatening global chaos with a world-ending computer virus, Jay has no choice but to track her down. The only problem? She doesn’t want to be rescued—and she’s not ready to face their dark past. But with danger closing in and time running out, letting her go isn’t an option.

For seven years, Rebecca has lived in the shadows, sacrificing everything to keep the man she loves safe. Walking away from Jay shattered her, but staying meant putting a target on his back. Now, with enemies closing in and nowhere left to hide, she has no choice but to stand and fight beside him—even if it means facing the one person she swore she’d never see again.

As their enemies draw near, Jay has more than one mission: stop the Dominion virus, protect Rebecca at all costs, and prove that their second chance is worth fighting for. Should be simple for a tech genius who’s waited a lifetime for the woman he never stopped loving, right?

With high-stakes action, heart-pounding suspense, and a sizzling slow burn, RESCUING REBECCA is a full-length standalone novel with a guaranteed happily-ever-after.

Let's hear it for these cereal killers! Aside from their shared love of breakfast cereal (Cap'n Crunch, anyone?), Jay and Becca share a history that goes all the way back to their beginnings. Each of them skilled hackers, they bonded over their work together and their innate chemistry that kept them faithfully tied to each other despite a separation of more than seven years. The waiting is over as Becca's time is running out and Jay picks up her digital breadcrumbs and sends the cavalry to her rescue. The first part of the book does a beautiful job of setting us right smack in the middle of an extraordinary case of historic, international intrigue. Once the rescue itself gets going, you need to make sure you're caught up on everything else in your life because the harrowing escape is so visceral, so intense, you won't feel safe until the entire team is all accounted for. It's as immersive as anything I've ever read, and scarily relevant to today's political climate. All they have left is to finish the job, which might be the most dangerous part yet! I really loved the way the author showed us who Jay and Becca are, and the steadfast love they have for each other. They share a particular villain whose attacks on each of them changed them in irreparable ways, with the heartbreaking story coming out as they finally deal with that ongoing threat and share their healing journeys with each other. The author's talent for words really shows through in these intimate, emotional passages, and I could not have loved it more. Once the dust settles and the immediate world threat has been neutralized, there's still the overwhelming trauma of the tremendous psychological ordeal for Becca to process and the author doesn't shy away from detailing exactly how devastating it can be. I adore the way Becca was given time to figure out "what now" but not so much time that Jay risked losing her once again. It's cathartic and heart-wrenching, but the eventual HEA for Jay and Becca was well worth the work. A lot of the ongoing investigation part of the storyline makes more sense to the reader who has read the earlier books, but the romance itself will completely stand alone. I also love how the author doesn't just give us the third-person POV of the main characters, but also of several others on the team. I hope to read their full stories soon, as I'm fully addicted to this series and highly recommend it for anyone who loves their romantic suspense stuffed full of both romance and suspense.

Wow. Just wow. "Rescuing Rebecca" completely stole my heart. Edith Lalonde has once again delivered a perfect blend of heart-pounding suspense, emotional depth, and swoon-worthy romance. I laughed, I cried (okay… cried a LOT), and I couldn’t stop turning the pages. Jay and Rebecca’s story was emotional, heartbreaking at times, but also so full of hope and love. The suspense kept me hooked, and the romance was everything—slow burn, second chances, all the feels. I also loved getting to see all the other characters (JTT Family) — they added so much depth and heart to the story. I can’t wait to read their books, too! This was absolutely worth the wait. Edith Lalonde nailed it again, and now I’m already desperate for the next Joint Task Team book. If you love romantic suspense with nonstop action and a love story that makes you feel everything, you need this one! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Fast paced thrill ride of a book. This author knows how to bring it. When JTT cyber specialist Jay needs help when a virus that can impact the world may get out, he needs to track for former colleague Rebecca to help stop it. The history that is between Rebecca and Jay was not good after a tragedy splits them, but now Jay needs help he has to find her. But she left for a reason to protect him. They sure have the chemistry to get over their issues and the attraction to build new bridges. That
