About the author
Edward J. Cowan is Emeritus Professor, formerly Professor of Scottish History at the University of Glasgow and Director of the university's Dumfries Campus. A regular speaker, broadcaster and writer, his publications include The Wallace Book, For Freedom Alone: The Declaration of Arbroath 1320, and Folk in Print: Scotland's Chapbook Heritage.
Kenneth Veitch is a Research fellow at the European Ethnological Research Centre, School of Literatures, Language and Culture, University of Edinburgh.
