El Dr. E. W. Kenyon (1867–1948) nació en Saratoga County, Nueva York. A los diecinueve años de edad predicó su primer sermón. Pastoreó varias iglesias en Nueva Inglaterra y fundó el Instituto Bíblico Bethel en Spencer, Massachusetts. (La escuela más adelante se convirtió en el Instituto Bíblico Providence cuando fue reubicada en Providence, Rhode Island). Kenyon sirvió como evangelista por más de veinte años. En 1931 se convirtió en un pionero de la radio cristiana en la costa del Pacífico con su programa Kenyon’s Church of the Air, donde se ganó el apodo de “El edificador de la fe”. También comenzó la iglesia New Covenant Baptist Church en Seattle, Washington. Además de sus ministerios pastoral y en la radio, Kenyon escribió prolíficamente.
