An abusive ex-boyfriend stalks his ex-girlfriend with evil in his heart. Hanna is shaken when she almost gets run over. Her grandfather’s dog pulls her out of danger. The real danger still persists and her father hires a local private investigator, Blake, (also their neighbor’s son who has a clingy ex-girlfriend to contend with) to dig into the hit and run. Romance begins to stir the air in this cozy mystery. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of the book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

In this mystery we find Hanna and she is on her way to work with her dog and she does get almost hit by a car. Someone was swerving to make her fall. Her dog yanks her onto the grass so nobody else runs her over. She meets an older woman Jerri and she takes her into her house and helps to calm her down. Jerri ends up calling her ex-boyfriend who comes to bring her back home. That is the furthest from what Hanna wants to do she ends up not going with him....

From the start of this book, I knew it was going to be one of those books that is hard to put down. When Hanna and Blake were brought together, they had no idea they would end up falling in love. They both had just come out of bad relationships. Hanna almost got hit by a car and Blake was the PI working the case, trying to find the suspect, while they both tried their best to avoid crazy exes. It is a slow build to the romance part, but the story moved along at a fast pace.
