John R. Vile is a professor of political science and dean of the University Honors College at Middle Tennessee State University. He is the author of numerous books including The Writing and Ratification of the United States Constitution: Practical Virtue in Action (2012); A Companion to the United States Constitution and Its Amendments, 5th ed. (2011); Essential Supreme Court Decisions: Summaries of Leading Cases in U.S. Constitutional Law, 15th ed. (2010); and The Encyclopedia of Constitutional Amendments, Proposed Amendments, and Amending Issues, 1789-2010, 3rd ed. (2010). He is a member of the board of the American Mock Trial Association, a recipient of the Congressman Neal Smith award for contributions to law-related education, a 2009 inductee into the American Mock Trial Coaches Hall of Fame, and a recipient of MTSU′s Outstanding Career Achievement Award for 2010–2011.

David L. Hudson Jr. is a First Amendment Scholar with the First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt University. He teaches First Amendment classes at the Nashville School of Law and Vanderbilt Law School. He is a First Amendment contributing editor to the American Bar Association′s Preview of United States Supreme Court Cases. He is the author or co-author of more than thirty-five books, including Let the Students Speak! A History of the Fight for Free Expression in American Schools (2011); The Encyclopedia of the First Amendment (2009); The Handy Supreme Court Answer Book (2008); and The Rehnquist Court: Understanding Its Impact and Legacy (2006).
