This story takes place in Newark, New Jersey. The city is infested with rodents, insects, poverty and excessive violence. The year is 1979, although the problems back then haven't changed much nowadays.
Elizabeth, Bren, Patty, and Millie are four young women who think they know it all. However, they are wrong. They don't know what the future holds. Nor do they realize that one bad decision can completely alter a good situation. Things don't always go as planned. Unforeseen occurrences befall us all. This is really ROUGH STUFF.
