About the author

Luke Kratz grew up in Pocatello, Idaho, and has been hiking in the state all his life. He holds degrees from Missouri State University and Idaho State University, has always been active in environmental organizations, and also enjoys writing and recording songs. He is the author of Hiking Idaho. He currently lives in Star Valley Ranch, Wyoming, where he teaches music in grades K-6.
