Saksalaissyntyinen Roman Schatz on median moniottelija ja Suomen kansalliskirjailija. Kirjailija on asunut Suomessa vuodesta 1986. Hän on naurattanut suomalaisia (ja ärsyttänyt tiukkapipoisimpia) paitsi kirjoillaan ja kolumneillaan myös lukuisilla tv-tuotannoillaan. Schatzin kaksikielinen esikoiskirja Suomesta, rakkaudella – From Finland, with Love saavutti suuren suosion myös Suomesta ja suomalaisuudesta ulkomaalaisille annettavana perustietopakettina. Rakasta minut- ja €-romaanien jälkeen ilmestyi jälleen uusi aluevaltaus, lastenkirja Zoo - Eläimellinen tarina sekä kaksi opaskirjaa: Käsikirja ja Berliini-matkaopas. Schatzin viimeisin julkaisu on Voi maamme, Suomi.
