It maps out policy action needed in the three stages of the integration process: measures needed in the context of new arrivals of immigrants; measures aimed at the promotion of equality of opportunities for long term immigrants and, measures needed in multicultural and ethnically diverse societies to ensure social cohesion. It examines areas such as employment, health, education and the media as well as religion, culture and language.
