About this ebook

This training manual is meant for self-study in SAP® BusinessObjects Web Intelligence. It can also be used as a support for a guided introductory training. The reader will be systematically and successively learn how to use the software based on examples and exercises. Starting with elementary functionalities, he will get an ever-increasing insight into the possibilities of reporting. It does not aim at explaining each and every single menu item, but focuses on the most commonly used range of functions. The chapters each begin with a practical question from everyday reporting, the solution to which is explained by detailed and well-illustrated click-through instructions. Following the click-through instructions, short summaries as well as further in-depth background knowledge are offered, to facilitate the conceptual classification of the topics.

About the author

Frank Hecker started in 2001 as a consultant for the company “Business Objects”, now part of SAP®, to deal with the topic “Business Intelligence” (BI). After a brief excursion into Java programming (and abroad), he continued his career as a freelance BI consultant before finally founding rheindata GmbH in January 2009, a data warehousing and business intelligence consulting firm based in Cologne, Germany, focused on the product world of SAP® BusinessObjects ™ (SAP BO). 

 

David Nissan-Arami spent five years at Deutsche Post DHL in the field of automotive network plan-ning and was responsible for reporting and setting up key performance indicator systems. Since 2014 he has been working at rheindata GmbH, where he mainly dealed with SAP BI solutions and above all with Web Intelligence. At present, Mr. Nissan-Arami works as Category Manager Business IT at Uniper. 

Cosmin Novac is a consultant for data engineering and data science, working on a multitude of BI projects for rheindata. Previously he has been with IBM, after studying information technology in Germany. <br/>Cosmin displays great creativity when designing Web Intelligence dashboards, combining its features to such an extent, that sometimes the outcome is far beyond your typical Web Intelligence report (Here are some examples: https://www.rheindata.com/dashboards-mit-web-intelligence).
