Lyman Frank Baum, né en 1856 et mort en 1919, était un auteur, acteur et réalisateur indépendant américain. Il est cependant plus connu pour être le créateur, avec l'illustrateur William Wallace Denslow, d'un des livres pour enfants les plus populaires aux États-Unis, Le Magicien d'Oz.
