mature oak forests of central and eastern France. As Birding is still a connoisseur hobby in France, there are plenty

of opportunities to find birds. The more common species in Paris abound, including: Common Wood-Pigeon, Great

Tit, Eurasian Blue Tit, Eurasian Jay, Eurasian Magpie, Carrion Crow, Short-toed Treecreeper, Eurasian Blackbird,

and European Starling. Paris is a city which harbours a great variety of birds, and not just pigeons and sparrows.

The Kestrel is the biggest avian predator of Paris, and has here adapted to feed on sparrows (wether in the

countryside, it feeds more on mice). About thirty couples nest on Parisian buildings, including famous monuments

such as the cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris and the Saint-Jacques tower.
