In this comprehensive book, readers will discover how the gut microbiome—the community of trillions of microorganisms living in our intestines—plays a pivotal role in our physical and mental health.

With the rise of chronic diseases, food intolerances, and emotional disorders, understanding how to nourish our gut has never been more crucial. Gut instinct equips readers with the knowledge and tools needed to harness the benefits of probiotics, fermented foods, and cutting-edge microbiome science.

Inside, you’ll discover:

•                  The science behind the gut-brain connection and why you shouldn’t underestimate the role it plays in your overall well-being

•                  How you can conquer the most common digestive problems and embrace a life of comfort and confidence, even if you’ve tried everything under the sun

•                  Signs, causes, and effects of poor gut health and how you can take control of what’s rightfully yours

•                  A checklist of gut-friendly foods you should incorporate into your diet so you can feel satisfied (avoid the hunger pangs and midnight cravings!)

•                  Everything you need to know about the elimination diet and how you can master it yourself

•                  Multiple ways to manage stress and create more self-care practices for a better mind-gut connection

The only problem I saw in my Amazon copy is that often there were words that did not have spaces between them and that was confusing. All said, this is advice that I hope to use on my path to wellness. Traditional medicine has not helped.

There is plenty of "did you know?" sections which lay some examples of common problems, the clinical reason for it, and some good advice to avoid them. Her book was a good read initially and is also worth the price to have on the shelf for future reference. If you are one of the 50% of people that have had gut problems, then this book is for you.

While I have read a myriad of books on fixing gut issues (which shows just how prevalent they are), many apply standard low fat, no meat, high wheat/gluten based solutions that have generally not worked for me. This book offers a very balanced and wholistic picture of how to couple our dietary past with the potential of modern supplementation options to restore our health. Her blogs are also terrific, and provide additional information on a range of health topics.
