About the author

Philippa Drury is a plastic surgery specialist registrar in the Health Education Thames Valley Oxford Deanery. She obtained a Bachelor of Medical Sciences from The University of Sydney in 2004, followed by her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from The Australian National University in 2008. In addition, whilst working as a junior medical officer at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2011, she completed a Post-graduate Diploma in Surgical Anatomy at The University of Melbourne. Philippa moved to the UK in 2013 and became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2014. She has worked in plastic surgery units in both Australia and the UK including Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide, The Royal Melbourne Hospital and The Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, before starting her specialist training in Oxford. She currently works at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust hospitals.
