About this ebook

An intensely emotional and gripping companion novel to Laura Nowlin's USA Today and New York Times Bestselling novel If He Had Been With Me about the love that both breaks and heals us. Perfect for fans of Colleen Hoover and Jenny Han.

If only I'd told her that I loved her years ago, then I wouldn't be here now.

Finn has always loved Autumn. She's not just the girl next door or his mother's best friend's daughter, she is his everything. But she's not his girlfriend. That's Sylvie, and Finn would never hurt her, so there's no way Autumn could know how he truly feels.

Jack, Finn's best friend, isn't so sure. He's seen Finn and Autumn together. How could she not know? And how is he supposed to support and protect Finn when heartache seems inevitable?

Autumn surrounds herself with books and wants to write her own destiny—but one doesn't always get a new chapter and fate can be cruel to those in love.

Told through three different perspectives, If Only I Had Told Her is a love story brimming with truth, tragedy, and the unexpected bonds that heal us.

I started out feeling for Finn immediately. Not because I knew the ending of his story, but because of his abandonment issues. He was so happy to be spending the summer with Autumn after years of them being apart but in the back of his mind, he assumed that it would end in her leaving him again. Then we get to Jack's POV. This is when I became an emotional wreck. I sobbed while reading Jack's entire perspective. Jack lost his best friend. Jack's POV is about living the start of his adult life with grief. He is figuring out who his real friends are and learning how to create new friendships and relationships. At the same time, he is trying to hold onto Finn's memory without it hurting so deeply. And Autumn. Her POV is not pretty. Before Finn's accident, Autumn struggled with depression. Afterward, she almost lost herself but Autumn has created a village and each member has a part of Phineas Smith, whether it's the love they had for him or the memories they will hold and share.

So, I'm a book loving teenager, and I looked at the original cover and started bawling (in my defense, I'm at a sleepover, with my best friend, and it's midnight) words can't begin to describe this book. This book took me through an emotional rollercoaster of tears, pain, heartache... and maybe anger.☺️ I mean, who can blame me for kinda hating on the guy that Autumn dated. Like who goes and cheats on his girlfriend WITH HER BESTFRIEND!! Ughhh! That was so infuriating to read! Anyways, byeeeeee!

Tragic, Engrossing, heartbreaking. I have been waiting on this for a long time. I felt like without Finny’s POV the original story lacked a little for me. This book brought me to tears a few times. The level of grief that I felt for these characters was huge. The feelings are written so raw. This is such a good story about love and friendship I do want to say it is written from the POV of young adults, in some parts it felt slightly juvenile. But, I did love it so much!!!
