Despite the sustained scholarly attention that the United Nations and international NGOs have received in the twenty-first century, they still remain under-researched from a management studies perspective. Dennis Dijkzeul is Professor of Conflict and Organization Research at the Social Science School and the Institute for International Law of Peace and Armed Conflict at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. He also teaches at the School of International and Public Affairs of Columbia University in New York.
