Isidore Israel Kozminsky (1870-1940) was an Australian-born astrologer. Possessing a broad knowledge of esoteric tradition and astrological knowledge, he was also as the author of several valuable on astrology and numerology, including Numbers: Their Magic and Mystery (1905) and The Magic and Science of Jewels and Stones (1922).
Isidore Kozminsky was born on October 25, 1870 into a Prussian-Jewish family that had emigrated to Australia a few years earlier. His parents, Simon Kozminsky (1835-1916) and Emma Esther Solomon (1848-1924), founded a jewelry shop in Melbourne in 1851, a business that is still in existence today.
Kozminsky obtained a doctorate in archaeology and also carried on the family jewelry business. However, his growing interest in esoteric tradition eventually became his lifelong passion, and around 1935, together with his wife and two children, he moved from Australia to London, at the time considered the centre of esoteric and occult tradition.
In 1917 he published his work on the zodiac degrees in a book named Zodiacal Symbology and its Planetary Power, an invaluable tool for interpreting natal charts in greater depth.
Kozminsky died in London in 1940 aged 70.
