Die Frage nach dem Wissenschaftscharakter der Theologie ist für deren Selbstverständnis und ihren Status in der Universität maßgeblich. Sie führt zugleich zur Klärung des Verhältnisses von Glauben und Wissen, Vernunft und Offenbarung im Grundsätzlichen und im Horizont der Moderne. In diesem Sammelband, der aus einer Tagung an der STH Basel im Herbst 2019 hervorging, werden diese Grundfragen in methodischer Vielfalt zwischen Philosophie, Erkenntnistheorie und theologischem Selbstverständnis untersucht und freundschaftlich kontrovers diskutiert. Mit Beiträgen von Ingolf U. Dalferth, Benedikt P. Göcke, Fabian F. Grassl, Dominikus Kraschl, Christoph Mocker, Holm Tetens, Harald Seubert und Daniel von Wachter. [Theology as Science] The question of the scientific character of theology is decisive for its self-understanding and its status in the university. At the same time, it leads to the clarification of the relationship between faith and knowledge, reason and revelation in general and in the horizon of modernity. In this anthology, which emerged from a conference at the STH Basel in the fall of 2019, these fundamental questions are examined and amicably controversially discussed in methodological diversity between philosophy, epistemology, and theological self-understanding.
