About this ebook

J. F. (Jim) Straw began his business career at the tender age of nine years when he sold his first cans of Cloverleaf Salve and copies of GRIT newspaper. Since then — and after over fifty years in various and sundry business endeavors — Mr. Straw has generated revenues in excess of $500,000,000. Thus, he is known as the "500-Million Dollar Man."

In "You Can Move Mountains," Mr. Straw details eleven important facts that he learned that not only made him rich, but will also get YOU rich. The facts are at once insightful and logical and, more importantly, immediately practicable. Mr. Straw then details the ONE overriding factor that can make you rich.

Over the years, Jim Straw has taught hundreds of people his methods for success and achievement. Until his death in 2012, Mr. Straw did what he did best: great business and teaching his knowledge. One of Mr. Straw's mottos was "Always exceed your customers' expectations." He does just that in this little volume.

I knew Jim for over 20 years. I published a mail order newsletter for 20 years and I always went to Jim for advice. He always answered his own phone and when his wife answered, she put me right through to Jim. The wisdom in this book is what Jim would tell me about. Many stories over the years. I still have copies of his newsletter "World Wide Business Exchange." He was just a "good old boy" and I am proud to have known him. Dave Roman Former publisher of Roman Reports

About the author

The eldest son of a farmer/aircraft worker, born in Oklahoma and reared on farms in Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas, J.F. (Jim) Straw began his long, successful career in business at the age of nine when he sold his first cans of Cloverleaf Salve and copies of GRIT newspaper. Even at that early age, he had the unique talent of recognizing an opportunity, implementing a plan, and making a profit.

Jim’s career has progressed through direct selling, service contracting, wholesale merchandising, entertainment (he was a professional trumpet player, vocalist, and radio announcer), freight forwarding, import/export, retail merchandising, warehousing, real estate, electronics manufacturing, finder’s fees, closeout merchandising, financial brokerage, business consulting, steel fabrication, gold and coal mining, offshore banking, mailorder, writing, and publishing.

Over the past 37 years, J.F. Straw has written well over 700 books, booklets, manuals, reports, courses, and articles about doing business — all based on his own personal, hands-on experience. His writings are specific methods, techniques, and approaches to doing business that anyone can use to start or expand their business.

As a mail-order marketer with over 700,000 customers worldwide he has sold over four-hundred million dollars ($400,000,000) worth of products and services by mail — everything from beauty supplies to heavy equipment, burglar alarms to sleeping bags, fishing lures to women’s wigs, automobiles to wheelchairs, investment opportunities to seafood, consulting services to “how to” courses.

His book Mustard Seeds, Shovels, & Mountains is his first traditionally published book.
