Hank warf einen Blick zurück. Elliot, der Boss, stand im Rahmen der Vordertür. Hinter der hochgewachsenen Gestalt des Anführers schimmerte das Rotlicht einer Bogenlampe. Drüben auf der Veranda gackerten Freudenmädchen.
Jetzt gab Hank sich einen Ruck und schob die Tür auf. Die Stube war klein und mit einem breiten Liegesofa möbliert. Inmitten einer Menge Kissen saß eine Frau. Sie trug ein dünnes Gewand, das mehr enthüllte als verbarg. Hank starrte sie fasziniert an und die Frau lächelte ihm zu. Langsam streckte sie eine Hand nach ihm aus...
