About this ebook

Every hero has his breaking point...

Former Navy SEAL Beckett Finch just wants a quiet, simple life where he can leave behind the horrors he's seen and done. When he takes a job as Sheriff of Crystal Falls, Texas, he hopes he's found it. It was working too until he met Lila. She's smart, sexy, and stirs Beckett's heart in ways he wasn't looking for. She's also the one woman he knows he can't want when the demons of his past catch up with him. When Lila is targeted by a ruthless enemy, Beckett will have to fight to protect her at all costs. Only he knows just how high that price can be.

Lila Kelly has secrets of her own. Like Beckett, she's hoping for a fresh start in a small town where she can leave behind the dangerous baggage her family name brings with it. The instant she lays eyes on Sheriff Finch, his southern charm, and sultry swagger has her weak in the knees. She can't afford to get too close to him or anyone else in Crystal Falls if she wants to keep her vengeful family from using them against her. Because the minute she lets her guard down, it will already be too late for everyone she cares about, including Beckett.

To be the hero Lila needs, Beckett will have to step over the edge one last time. Will her love be strong enough to bring him back?

I really enjoyed this book. Beckett and Lila are really well written characters. They are both good at their core but with deep scars that cause them not to trust easily. Their chemistry is instantaneous and undeniable but just as they are starting to get some sort of a solid foundation going trouble appears from multiple directions. Can they learn to trust each other and make it to the other side?

About the author

Jayne Blue is two sisters who love writing romantic suspense featuring strong heroines and those hunky alpha men we all dream about.

They got their start in the genre when they were little while cooking up elaborate plots for their Barbie dolls to the irritation of all their friends (Hey...she doesn't HAVE to be from Malibu just because that's what the box says!).
