 Depepa Jayaraj is known as a poet, social worker and lawyer. Her major works include “Amminikutty”, “Indhumathi”, “Pranayatheerathe Paravkal”, “Birds of Love Shore”, “Krishna Nee Begane”, “Yakshi”, “Jeevitham” and “Zamzam”. She has translated her works into both English and Kannada. In her novella, “Krishna Nee Begane” the readers are given that old mesmerizing picture of Radha and Krishna together- the eternal symbols of unconditional love. In the story, Radha is waiting for her beloved Krishna, chanting his name. The readers get to see the human side of Krishna, Radha and Rukmini through this novella. Her novel “Amminikutty”, a novel which centers on its main character Amminikkutty. The plot of this novel is the miserable life lead by its heroine, who has always stood for the wellbeing of those in her life.
