An OK book I guess. As an og wimpy kid reader, this book has lost its 'classic' effect. Old characters like Chirag, patty & Bryce have stopped appearing. Greg not mentioning Holly is normal since he's not into her anymore. Rowley, literally being the only friend of Greg, appears only in few scenes. Greg is centred 95% around only his family which is really boring. The old books were really AWESOME in the school with Greg and Rowley chilling together, Greg trying to impress few girls, maybe? And eavesdropping on the popular kids at the table. Now it's mostly about some boring trips & family bonding. It seems like the writer had lost ideas & is just adding up some random gibberish to fill up the pages for marketing the book series. To be honest, the books should continue with the story from the previous book to be more readable. Some people are demanding Greg to reach highschool. Go ahead, but it'd be difficult to attract little babies & DOAWK will have more a matured fanbase instead.

Hot Mess is a hilarious and relatable story about Greg Heffley's latest misadventures. As always, Greg finds himself in some pretty funny situations, and I couldn't stop laughing. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves humor and adventure.
