Die so genannte »Flüchtlingskrise« des Jahres 2015 hat vieles verändert. Die Museumslandschaft will einen Beitrag zur Integration leisten. Doch die museale Vermittlungsarbeit stellt die berechtigte Frage nach dem »Wie«. Johannes M. Knoblach trägt zur Klärung der Frage bei, welche Bedingungen museumspädagogische Anstrengungen kennzeichnen, die sich an den Interessen Jugendlicher mit Migrationserfahrung orientieren. Kern seiner Arbeit ist eine empirische Studie, die sich in einem qualitativ-rekonstruktiven Ansatz den Strukturen von Interessenhandlungen im Allgemeinen und den Prozessen historischer Sinnbildung im Besonderen annähert. Daraus entwickelt der Autor Impulse, die für die museale Vermittlungspraxis sowie für weitere Forschung anschlussfähig sind. An educational programme in cultural-historical museums is for teenagers with migration experience interesting if a central element of it is their own personal experience. An essential condition for developing interest is the satisfaction of the basic psychological needs for competence, autonomy and relatedness. An act of interest excels in the possibility for the teenagers to independently develop their own interpretation, their own "story", of the specific museum context. Processes of historical formation of meaning are marked by a positive-affirmative use, a creation of meaning through history, which reaches its goal in building a positive relation to foreign cultures.

Dr. Johannes M. Knoblach studierte Geschichte und Deutsch für das Gymnasiallehramt sowie Geschichte im Master an der Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Promoviert wurde er im Fach Didaktik der Geschichte.
