This is an elegant treatment of six important figures in the Catholic spiritual tradition, presented by the man who has done so much to bring these ancient resources to our attention through the Classics of Western Spirituality series, the Sources of American Spirituality series, and the Spiritual Legacy series. The book is suitable for use in undergraduate and graduate classes, parish study groups, or individual study. Contains masterful introductions plus long textual selections from the works of Augustine, Gregory of Nyssa, Julian of Norwich, Dante, Ignatius Loyola, and Bonaventure.
