The Old Man's War series began as a genuinely unique and masterful idea and while the first books kept to that standard it slowly began to deteriorate into a mash of uninspiring characters, unoriginal scenarios and vapid plotlines. The End of All Things is the epitome of a grand creative idea gone utterly rotten. Filled with senseless politics and forgetable characters, the only hope is that this book is The End of This Series. What began as a wonderful series has turned into Old Man's Mush.

About the author
John Scalzi is one of the most popular and acclaimed SF authors to emerge in the last decade. His debut, Old Man's War, won him science fiction's John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer. His New York Times bestsellers include The Last Colony, Fuzzy Nation, Lock In, and also Redshirts, which won 2013's Hugo Award for Best Novel. Material from his widely read blog Whatever has also earned him two other Hugo Awards. He lives in Ohio with his wife and daughter.
