She is a woman that walked in many shoes, but very determined to make good of her life and greater for her kids, family and friends. Without giving up, she strives for the best. Falling and struggling did not stop her. Loneliness makes her stronger, her friends either hates or loves her, being a mother and daughter completes her, God redeems her. She learned to deal with her pains, joys, happiness and sorrows by writing and drinking a cup of herbal tea. Her parents, children, homeland, people and her friends are wrapped-up in this little book. Leaving Jamaica WI and coming to America really taught her a lesson on life, struggles, history and dignity. You have to learn how to love yourself and to give love unconditionally. Without loving yourself you cannot love others and give without wanting in return. As a child growing-up, she did not appreciate some of the things her mother and family members told her over and over again, and she used to think they talked too much. Now there are valuable lessons of love, respect, sharing, honor, manners, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, humanity, being humble, honesty, caring, and liking yourself, your roots, and where you are coming from. Recently, she began to reflect on those lessons and began to write, some of her experiences came from seeing others suffer, her personal experience as a single parent, brothers pushed aside, sisters loosing sight of what really counts, abuse and brutality, giving love and being loved, etc, etc. Hope her book of feelings can bring something meaningful and enjoyable to your life. She lives, laughs and loves. Joy Sewell-Laing
