About this ebook

Jackson Holt and I have a mutual problem, with an obvious solution. A fake relationship is the perfect way for both of us to get what we want.

The sinfully handsome new veterinarian in Dogwood Cove needs to show his boss he’s settling down and here to stay so that he can secure his partnership. I need to get my family and friends off my back so I can focus on my busy bakery, and open my new cafe.

Pretending to date each other is no hardship, and the answer to our problems. Two birds, one little white lie of a stone.

The challenge will be avoiding the very real feelings neither of us see coming.

Rumours and Romance is the perfect fake relationship that leads to real love. For fans of steamy small town love stories, with a couple who choose to be child-free, adorable animals, found family friend groups, low angst and high heat romance with a guaranteed HEA. This is the second book in the Dogwood Cove series and can be read as a standalone, although the series is best enjoyed if read in order.

Started out with really cute chemistry between the main characters. Then it became more stupid over the next few chapters. The adults acted worse than kids. No communication. I finally deleted after halfway thru the book. It became too annoying.

This book is apparently one in the Dogwood Cove Series and is about Mila and Jackson. Mila is a baker and runs a small bakery in town called The Nutty Muffin. Jackson is new and comes into her bakery but seems standoffish. Unknown to her Jackson is dealing with a betrayal from his ex-fiancée and boss and took a new job as another Vet in town. Mila ends up finding and adopting a stray dog, goes to the Vet and finds out who Jackson is. They become friends. Jackson wants to buy into the Veterinary practice, but the older Vet wants to see that Jackson is committed to the town. Meanwhile Mila is sick of all her friends and family wanting her to settle down with a man. Mila and Jackson come up with a plan to fake date except things get very real very quickly. This was a cute book. I like Ms. Jarretts writing, the characters were interesting and were both struggling with their own issues. I liked that the author had the characters stay true to themselves. She showed them really messing up and struggling with things but also being honest with themselves and each other. They were mature and willing to accept fault. It helped to see detailed POVs from both characters. There was significant heat in this book. Overall, I enjoyed this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

One of favorite tropes brought to the small town of Dogwood Cove. The town where there’s not near enough eligible bachelors for Mila to even begin to look beyond her bakery & expansion cafe. She’s worked hard to get to where she’s at, & she wants to honor the memory of her mother. But with her friends & brother constantly on her back about her workaholic tendencies, something has to give! Enter stage right, sexy new town veterinarian, Jackson Holt.
