Ausgehend von der Beobachtung, dass ein besonderes Merkmal der Texte ihre Intertextualität ist, geht Julian Osthues der Frage nach, inwiefern sich die spezifische Ästhetik dieser Literatur anhand der Schriftmetapher des »Palimpsests« beschreiben lässt und ihr ein »postkoloniales Potential« eigen ist. Die Studie lotet die heuristische Leistung der Palimpsest-Metapher für textanalytische und literaturtheoretische Perspektiven aus und schließt an zentrale Überlegungen der postkolonialen Theorie an.
