Karl Marx (1818–1883) war ein deutscher Philosoph, Ökonom und Gesellschaftskritiker, dessen Werke wie Das Kapital und das Kommunistische Manifest die Grundlage für den Marxismus und viele sozialistische Bewegungen legten. Er lebte einen Großteil seines Lebens im Exil, insbesondere in London, wo er seine wichtigsten Schriften verfasste.
