The Mate That Got Away

A REALLY good, quick, read! I loved this book! Yes, it's only 38 pages and I SO wish it would have been longer, but I think it speaks to Kate's credit that she can write such a gripping story in so few pages. Kate also did a great job of making me feel the emotions Daphne and Kieran had for each other, even when they shouldn't. This "forbidden love" element made the story even more interesting (no spoilers here!). I loved the loyalty and faithfulness Daphne and Kieran had for each other, and the ending was SO touching! Oh, and let's not forget the SMOKING HOT love scenes! Did I mention I really liked the ending? :) Won't be my last Kate Rudolph book, that's for sure!

The Mate That Got Away is another REALLY short read. I like to think of it as eating a square of chocolate off the bar. Despite that, the book was still complete and rather enjoyable. It managed to tell a complete story and make you feel like you read an actual book, despite it's bite-sized nature. Gonna call that a feat for sure. The book is the story of Daphne and Kieran, a pair of werewolves who grew up together and fell in love as youngsters do. The story actually takes place 10 years after this event and deals with how they manage to find their way through the obstacles. The story had some real action, some angsty regret over 10 lost years, some yummy steam of course, and some good old fashioned payback. Rather enjoyed this. If you want a quick little romp with some werewolves that won't leave you hanging or wanting, give this a go!
