"Jam-packed with heart stopping suspense." -Book Fetish

ONE COLD NIGHT SHE DISAPPEARED
New York Police detective Dave Strauss is haunted by the one case he couldn't solve. A schoolgirl vanished off the streets of Brooklyn, with only a trail of blood and a series of untraceable phone calls from "the Groom" hinting at her fate. Now the cold dark night has engulfed another young girl-but this time she is part of Dave's family. He and his wife, Susan, know fourteen-year-old Lisa has not run away, and they know her disappearance is not just a tragic coincidence. And once the first phone call comes, they know she's not alone....

The story was good...suspenseful, with several twists. BUT all the paragraphs and pages devoted to everyone's thought processes were mindnumbingly boring and ultimately added nothing to the plot. She could have trimmed up some of the flowery descriptive phrases also. Epilogue was basically useless because of this.

Katia Lief is a beautiful writer. She adds so much feeling to an otherwise simple story. The end result is a well-crafted, interesting piece of love, terror, and loss. I would absolutely recommend this book. It's a great read.

Too much repetition, as if the reader couldn't remember anything. Waffled on too much repeating everything. Disappointed that I bought the three set. One book to read was enough. Might try read the next one if I get really bored.
