The koala is a small animal that lives in trees. It is a native animal of Australia.

The adult male Koala is called a buck. The adult female is called a doe. A young koala is a joey.

There are two types of koalas.

The southern koala is found around the state of Victoria and up to the bottom of New South Wales. Then there’s a sort of a gap between where koalas are found until you get to Queensland. These koalas are called the northern koalas and are a lot smaller.

Find out more about this amazing animal and learn the answers to these questions:

In what way are a koala's eyes like a cat's eyes?

Does the koala thumb have a claw?

What sounds do koalas make?

Is a koala a bear?

How much water do koalas usually need?

Learn what a koala looks like, where it lives, what it eats, what eats it, how babies are born, and other fun facts.

Ages 7 to 10

All measurements in American and metric.

This Educational Version includes activities designed to reinforce Common Core Curriculum Standards.
