Too many questions for the government of Dr. Valdez, from Mojica's own party, to let this slip by. The investigation must be carried out with utmost discretion, but the truth must be uncovered. To achieve that, the investigative duo Goldman and Ielicov, who solved Uruguay's only serial killer case four years earlier, are hired.
Many people would have benefited from Mojica's death before he could reach the presidency, but did anyone dare to expedite the process?
In his second historical noir novel, the author reveals 40 years of a country with a great democratic tradition that, however, suffered a dictatorship (or re-institutionalization, depending on who you ask) that lasted 12 long years. But it wasn't just the state that harmed the people. People also hurt each other.

Marcel Pujol wrote twelve works between 2005 and 2007 on a wide range of topics and in different genres: thrillers, epic fantasy, short story compilations, as well as essays on serious subjects like hysteria in fatherhood and the Uruguayan prison system. In 2023, he picked up the creative pen once again and has already written 10 new titles... and he's not stopping!
This author cannot be identified with any particular genre, but he does have a very distinctive style that runs through his work:
- The plots are gripping
- The dialogue between characters has a pace and adrenaline akin to action films
- The main characters evolve throughout the story, and the person who emerges from the novel may have little in common with who they were at the beginning
- There are no perfect characters. Even the protagonists range from antiheroes to individuals with notable, yet imperfect, qualities. A bit like each of us, don’t you think?
