The Golden Moon Beatrice was cautioned to stay away from the castle's Golden Moon celebration but her twin brother is adamant that they attend. The castle is magnificent. The banquet table is filled with incredible delights. The secret that her brother finally reveals is horrifying! This is a good start to this new series. It will be interesting to see what the next book brings. I would have given 5 stars but I expected a more enticing cliffhanger.

This is the first book of two which make up the House Of Blood And Roses series. It is well-written and introduces us to a "Dhampir", a half-human, half-vampire character which certainly is something I've never come across before. I liked the flow of the story and the world-building, Beatrice and Pip the main characters are well-drawn and the story certainly had me hooked from beginning to end which by the way is a cliffhanger. I can hardly wait for the next book to be available.
