About this ebook

CHARISMATIC? YOU CERTAINLY ARE...IF YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN AT ALL.

But perhaps not in the way the term is frequently used today. Charismata is a Greek word meaning "gifts of grace." It refers to the gifts or special abilities given to Christians by the Holy Spirit--all the gifts, not just speaking in tongues or miracles or healing.

• What are the 19 gifts?
• Are they all for today?
• What is their purpose?
• How can we discover and put to use our own gifts?

All of these questions, plus a careful examination of gifts revealed in the Bible, are included in this in-depth study, first published in 1974. If you want to know what the Bible says about spiritual gifts, this book is for you.

Dr. Leslie Flynn is the former pastor of Grace Conservative Baptist Church in Nanuet, New York, where he served for 40 years. He has written more than 30 books, among them this classic and The Twelve.

Although a concise expose on biblical gifts; the writer has missed the essence of Spiritual Gifts. To say an unregenerate soul has only 'common talent' is to say Jesus walked in the flesh prior to His baptism by John. God knows the spirit of every person prior to formation in their mother's womb and He endues them with 'redemptive gifts' that are spiritual, prior to birth into this world. Example: a singer is 'gifted' with excellent hearing to discern pitch and is therefore able to reproduce with their voice. Not all people can do this; because it is a 'gift'. What one does with their gift(s) throughout life is predicated by their calling and selection by God and how they respond. If they are IN Him, they use their gifts to glorify Him. If not; themselves. This is the source of evil gifts such as witchcraft. This is no doubt an intellectual writing...

A very balanced and grounded approach to the gifts. I especially appreciate the insight that we may not recognize all of our gifts until we exercise some of them. Some people teachthat our gifts change with time; this shows that it is our use of our existing gifts is what changes. We will grow and mature into what God would have us become.
