About the author
Louisa May Alcott è nata a Georgetown in Pennsylvania nel 1832 ed è morta a Boston nel 1888. Esordì in giovane età come scrittrice di poemi e racconti, ma ottenne grande successo con il romanzo Piccole donne nel 1868 a cui seguì il secondo volume Piccole donne crescono nel 1869.
